The Construction Association of Thunder Bay became a
WSIB Safety Group Sponsor in October of 2002. The first year for the Group was
2003. There were thirty-one members in this group.
In the second year of the Safety Group (2004), twenty
nine members of the Construction Association benefited from the Safety Group
activities. In 2005 the members for 2004 collectively received a $27,000.00
rebate
In the Third year of the Safety Group (2005), 24
members of the Construction Association benefited from the Safety Groups
Activities. In 2006 the members for 2005 collectively received a $54,000.00
rebate for their outstanding performance. The benchmark for improvement in lost
ime injuries and severity was 10% this group achieved an improvement of 65%
making it among the top performers in
In the fourth year of the safety Group (2006), 31
members of the Construction Association benefited from the Safety Groups
Activities, In 2007 the members for 2006 collectively received a $28,000.00
rebate for their performance
In the fifth year of the safety group (2007) 32
members of the Construction Association benefited from the Safety Group
Activities, In 2008 the members for 2007 collectively received a $79,000.00 rebate
for their performance
In the sixth year the safety group (2008) 22 members
of the Construction Association benefited from the safety Group Activities
